Mindfulness At Work

While some people thrive on pressure and you think people are naturally resilient, resilience is a skill you can learn. Mindfulness techniques can help you manage work-related stress better, improve communication skills, increase productivity and even help you be more compassionate towards yourself. Teaching you to accept what you can’t change about a situation.

 

Sometimes acceptance is what it takes for you to realise that a role is not for you even if it pays a lot. Your happiness and peace of mind above all should be primary. On the other hand, if a problem does arise at work, because you’re in a calm, serene, productive state of mind, your creativity is free to take reign and you might even come up with the unusual, overlooked solutions to the problem.

 

Whenever work piles up and it feels like things are going over your head, take a moment to reconnect to a mindful state of being. Whenever you feel like you’re ready, continue with your day. When you’re mentally stressed or exhausted, your work suffers. Instead, take some time off to relax even it’s just a few minutes. Centre yourself and get your head back in the game.

My Story

My story began with my body giving me a wakeup call which I had no choice but to answer. I was diagnosed with Spinal Tuberculosis and Bronchitis in 2000 and living with Sickle Cell Anaemia.

I understand the phrase “health is wealth” very well. At various stages of my illness I was told by the Doctors that eating a good diet was all I needed to get better.
